and that typewriter's too new to be 60's. they still used all-mechanical typewriters in the 60's (my olivetti's ca. 1962). that might not apply to all brands, but judging by the font, the plastic, the colour, and just the styling, i'm judging that thing to be mid 70's or newer.

@Kari: I beg to differ, SCM started making electric models in 1955. The closest I could find in a Google Quest was the SMC Coronet Electric 12 (nearly identical design aside from colour, see here http://retrotechofficemachines.blogspot.com/2009/10/for-sale-smith-corona-coronet-electric.html http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-SMITH-CORONA-CORONET-ELECTRIC-TYPEWRITER-/290503372939?pt=BI_Typewriters_Word_Processors&hash=item43a359b08b ) which is cited as being from the late 60s/early 70s.

@Kari: Buttttttt, Smith-Corona has been using that blocked SCM logo since 1962, and that style of font since (as far as I can tell looking at images of SCM typewriters) the mid-late 60s.
